Sue Merhoff

Sue Merhoff gained her wings on May 23, 2025 at the home she and husband, John, built on the farm in rural Ponca City.
Born April 24, 1954 in Arkansas City, KS to Frankie (Eastin) Keen and Donald Keen. She grew up in Newkirk, OK where she attended school and graduated from Newkirk High School in 1972. She married John Merhoff on June 1, 1972 and they made their home in rural Newkirk and raised a family before later moving to the home in rural Ponca City where she would live until her passing after nearly 53 years of marriage.
An avid homemaker, she was an active member of the Lost Creek Extension Homemakers for many years and enjoyed cooking, canning, and sewing. For many years, she enjoyed gardening and landscaping her new home. After her children were grown she took tax classes and became a tax preparer, working for Jackson Hewitt and H&R Block until retiring in 2014.
In addition to being a devoted and hardworking farm wife and mother, she would find being a grandma was her favorite title.
Besides her grandchildren, her favorite things in life were her sheep and her dogs. She loved her Pyrenees and the flock of sheep they protected as well as the goats that would come later.
Sue is survived by her husband, John, brother Charley King (Shelly), sister Shelly Gray, children Jim Merhoff (Chandrea) and Sherry Morgan (Steve), grandchildren William, Madilynn, Haley, Jacob, and Sarah.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, her mother Frankie King, father Donald Keen, sister Sally Cavins, and daughter in law Heather Ramirez.
