Rick (Papa Rick) Moberly

Gerald Richard (Rick) Moberly II, affectionately known as Papa Rick, 62, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, was called to his eternal resting place on November 22, 2024, in Ponca City, Oklahoma. He entered this world on July 3, 1962, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, born to Gerald and Norma (Lovin) Moberly. 

He met the love of his life, Carol McCracken, and the two were married on February 9th, 1983, in Pauls Valley and moved to Oxford, Kansas in 1984. They eventually made their home in Newkirk, where Rick had his own mechanic business for several years, as well as worked for the County with District II as a Heavy Equipment Operator for 10 years. 

In his spare time, Rick enjoyed fishing and being a crew chief for his grandkids when they competed in drag racing. 

Those left behind to cherish Rick's memory is his loving wife, Carol, of the home; his sons: Trey & wife Karolyn Moberly of Stillwater, Brad & wife Stephanie of Oxford, KS, & Kyle & wife Amanda Moberly of Newkirk, OK; two brothers, David Moberly of Oklahoma City, and John Moberly of Oxford, KS, his sisters, Donna & husband Johnny Mikeska of Oklahoma City, and Mary Jane & husband Cecil Cox of Oklahoma City. His grandchildren: Kale Moberly, Haven Moberly, Presley Moberly, Ki Moberly, Collins Moberly, Parker Moberly, and Evan Moberly. As well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Lawrence Moberly. 

A Celebration of Life for Rick will take place at the Stagecoach Event Center in Newkirk, Oklahoma on Saturday, November 30, 2024, at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for consideration of donations to the Papa Rick Memorial Racing Fund in care of Cherokee Strip Credit Union in Newkirk, OK.
