Helen was the youngest daughter of John & Ethel (Little) Hasselbring of Newkirk, OK. Born November 17th, 1941 in Estancia, New Mexico after “Womb Mate”, her twin brother Danny and 8 siblings. After living a short time in Estancia, the family moved back to Newkirk where Helen attended school from kindergarten to 12th grade. She went on to attend one year of college at Oklahoma State University. After which, she married her first husband and gave birth to her oldest daughter. They made their home in Newkirk where they raised four children. They then moved to Emporia, Kansas until 1979 then back to Newkirk to their current residence.

Helen began working at the Kay County Assessors Office in 1979 and retired after 27 years. In her spare time she loved to sing for her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She sang in the Blue Grass Gospel group ‘New Song’ for many years and also loved to sing specials at church and other various occasions. She loved her family and enjoyed attending all the sports games, music concerts, plays, and family reunions she could.
