Kenneth Marlatt

December 14, 1942 — August 3, 2025

Kenneth Lee Marlatt, a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather and great-grandfather, and Navy veteran, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a life defined by hard work, deep love, and quiet generosity.

Ken was born in Abilene, Kansas, the son of Floyd and Edna Marlatt. He grew up with five brothers and sisters, all of whom preceded him in death. From an early age, Ken carried with him a strong work ethic and a deep sense of loyalty—qualities that would shape the course of his life.

Following his honorable service in the United States Navy, Ken dedicated 33 years to Beech Aviation in Wichita, Kansas. After retiring, he moved to Newkirk, Oklahoma, where he enjoyed a slower pace of life, surrounded by family and his favorite pastimes.

Ken was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary, with whom he shared a strong and loving marriage that lasted 45 years. He was also preceded in death by his son, Larry. He is survived by his son Bill (wife Shannon), daughter Tammy (husband Dennis), daughter Elaine (husband Bruce), and daughter Heather. He was a proud grandfather to 11 grandchildren and a cherished great-grandfather to 14 great-grandchildren.

Ken’s life was centered around family. He was a steady, dependable presence who gave selflessly to those he loved. He cared for Mary with unwavering devotion and supported his children and grandchildren with quiet strength and constant love. Known for enjoying the simple pleasures, Ken liked his cigarettes, a cold beer, and a good game of pool. He was also a skilled woodworker and lifelong tinkerer, often found in his workshop creating, fixing, or just enjoying the process of working with his hands.

Kenneth Lee Marlatt will be remembered for the love he gave, the life he built, and the example he set for all who knew him. His legacy lives on in the hearts and lives of his family and friends.
