Kurtis Lenn Jenkins, 63, of Kaw City, OK, was called to his eternal resting place on October 10, 2023. He entered this world on December 19, 1959, in Ark City, KS, born to Jerold Dean Jenkins, Sr. and Bonnie Carol (Sparks) Jenkins.
Since he was part of a military family, they lived all over the world were ever his father was stationed, after his father was honorably discharged in 1974, they made their home in Newkirk, OK. where he graduated from Newkirk High School in 1978. Kurtis was a gifted musician and he moved to Tennessee to pursue his music career. Kurtis did numerous jobs to support his music career. He returned to Kay County in 2019, making his home in Kaw City, Kurtis enjoyed attending class reunions and singing and writing songs.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his Partner Mike Mantz, of Wellington, KS; his Brothers Jerold Jenkins, Jr. and wife Bambi, of Ponca City, OK, Terry Jenkins, of Seattle, WA, and Kevin Jenkins, of Kaw City, OK.; his close Friend Becky Scott, of Ponca City, OK; numerous Nieces, Nephews, Great Nieces and Nephews, Aunts and Uncles and friends.
Kurtis is preceded in death by his Parents, infant Sister, Rhonda Carol Jenkins, sister-in-law Lanette Jenkins, Nephews Kristopher Jenkins, Kevin (Chaz) Jenkins, and Niece Kindra Carolee Jenkins.
Services will be held for Kurtis at the First United Methodist Church in Newkirk, OK on Tuesday, October 17, 2023, at 2 p.m. with burial to follow at Newkirk City Cemetery.
