Treva Eleanor Thompson

Treva Elanor (Mosier) Thompson, 87, passed away Mar, 21 2026, in Ponca City OK. Treva was born September 21, 1938, in Arkansas City, Kansas, to Homer Fay Mosier and Nila Lois Rosecrans. After graduating high school, she married Don L. Thompson Sr on November 5, 1955. They had been married 66 years, 8 months, and 12 days. To their marriage were born two sons, Don Thompson Jr., wife Sharon and James Thompson Sr.. The same year she married Don she joined Don with the U.S. Air Force, where he served 25 years, retiring in June of 1979. During that time, she lived in: Greenville, Mississippi; Chandler, Arizona; Clovis, New Mexico; Tucson, Arizona; Phoenix, Arizona; Zweibrucken Germany; and Alexandria, Louisiana, after which she went back to his Don’s hometown of Newkirk, Oklahoma.

Preceding her in death are her husband Don L. Thompson Sr., her parents Nila and Earl McKimson, her brother Carl Johnson, her sisters Donna McCraw and Helen Belisle, and brother Delbert McKimson.

Surviving Treva is: her two sons Don and James and Don’s wife Sharon; five grandchildren - on Don Jr side there is Ron (and wife Lissy) Thompson, and Treva Jo Thompson, and on James Sr side there is Jerry Thompson, James Thompson Jr, and Joshua Thompson; 9 great grandchildren- on Don Jr side there is Kam, Kara, and Alex, and on James Sr side there is Cheyenne, Ariel, James III, Emily, Mallory, and Hannah; 6 great-great grandchildren on James Sr side-Tanner, Dawson, Raelynn, Lunabee, Oliver, Jeremy; and many nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation will be held Sunday March 29, 2026, from 5 pm to 7 pm. Services for Treva will be held at 11:00 am, Monday, March 30, 2026, at the Newkirk Church of Christ, with Scott Dutton officiating.
