Virginia Sewell Miller, born on August 29, 1930, in Blackwell, Oklahoma, passed away on March 18, 2026, at Ponca City Nursing Home and Rehab. Her life was marked by a devoted commitment to caring for others as a private caretaker in home healthcare. She brought comfort and tenderness to those she served.

A woman of St. John's Lutheran faith, Virginia found joy and purpose in her spiritual community. Her hands were never still as she expressed her creativity through sewing, quilting, and embroidery. These crafts not only filled her days with beauty but also expressed the warmth and love she shared with family and friends.

Virginia was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Harry Schmitt and Eunice (Friend) Schmitt; her cherished husbands, Alan Vestal Sewell and John Miller Jr.; two brothers, Harry Schmitt Jr. and Richard Neal Schmitt; and her sister, Darlene Reed.

She is survived by her son Richard (Linda) Sewell who resides in Manford, her daughter Suzanne (Clifford) Mills of Ponca City, five grandchildren: Shane Mills, Stacy Diaz, Joy Dawn Bible, Robert Sewell, and Richard Sewell.

A graveside service to honor Virginia Rose Miller’s life will be held on March 24, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at the Newkirk City Cemetery located on E Fork Road, Newkirk, Oklahoma, 74647. Family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by her gentle spirit will gather to remember and celebrate a woman whose legacy of love, faith, and care will remain vibrant and cherished for years to come. Virginia’s life was one of quiet strength, unyielding faith, and creative grace. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew her.
