Douglas Miller

Douglas Miller, 68, beloved Husband, dad, grandad, and brother, was called to his eternal resting place on August 16, 2021. He entered this world on April 9, 1953, in Hutchison, Kansas, born to William C and Ava Jane McAlister Miller.

Memorial Services will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, August 21, 2021, in the Christ Church of Newkirk with Pastor Craig Ortwein officiating.

He graduated from Haven High School in 1971 after graduation he became a farm and ranch hand, Doug drove a truck for Prairieland Processors and later he became the Supervisor of the Cooler and Transportation Department at Creekstone in Arkansas City, KS. Doug also drove a Belly Dump Truck for Kay County District 2 until his retirement in 2019. Doug's lifelong passion was fishing, boating, camping, and hunting Morel Mushrooms. Doug enjoyed taking his two annual trips a year to Lake Texoma to Striper fish with his lifelong friends and family. He was very proud of his children and grandchildren, and he loved spending time with them and making them laugh. His death will be mourned by so many people because of his big heart and great sense of family and friends. His humor will live on in all that loved him. Doug married the love of his life Heather Jo Shaw in 2001 and they made a wonderful, blended family together with her and was cherished.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife; Heather of the Home, Son; Kyle Miller and Tessa Thornton of Shidler, OK, Daughter; Andrea Miller and Shane Faulkner of Hutchinson, KS stepdaughters; Megan Harris and husband Tim and Erin Contreras and husband Eli all of Dickinson, TX, brothers; Darrell Miller and wife Linda of Ruston, LA, David Miller, and Wife Deb of Verona, Illinois. Dean Miller and wife Joan of Wichita, KS Sisters: Beth Miller and Les White of Wichita and Julie Welch and husband Scott of Hutchinson, KS, stepbrothers; Larry VanHoff and Brad VanHoff both of Wichita, KS. also surviving is his stepmother; Lynne Miller, eight grandchildren; Jaiden, Mackenzie, Lauren, Leo, Max, Addison, Lucy, Breezleigh, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Doug was preceded in death by his father and mother.
