Warren Rouse

Warren D. Rouse, 90, beloved husband and father, was called to his eternal resting place on January 19, 2023. He entered this world on February 19, 1932 in Newkirk, Oklahoma, born to Charlie and Rhoda (Talley) Rouse.

He enjoyed all kinds of outdoor sports such as skiing, mountain climbing, as well as running 6 miles every day. When he was 49, he accomplished the feat of climbing Mt. McKinley in Alaska. Warren also enjoyed bicycling and would take a nine day trip to bike around Washington state every year, which included five mountain passes.

Warren graduated from Oklahoma University in 1954, where he earned a full scholarship in track, running long distance. He then went on to the University of Wichita. All in all he went twenty continuous semesters.

Warren had a love for airplanes since the age of four and spent 41 years at Boeing. He started as a riveter on B52's through the 767 project. He became a team leader AOG (aircraft on the ground) where he flew all over the world for Boeing, anywhere from three days to six months. He flew to places like Ireland, Japan, Greece, and many more exciting places. He also had the privilege of working on a U.S. Presidential plane.

In 1960, he transferred to Denver to work on the missile silos for Martin-Marglett, then he moved to Middleton, Ohio to work for Aeronca on the Apollo Space Craft. In 1965, he moved back to Wichita for Boeing and then in 1968 he was transferred to Everett, Washington to work on the 747 program, and retired in 1995.

Those left behind to cherish Warren's memory are his wife Jean Marie Huene-Rouse, daughter Mona Rouse, stepdaughters: Regina Ryan, Carla Sicher, and Terri Kohler; his grandchildren: Elizabeth Rouse, Emily Rouse, Marcel Rouse and wife, Arthur and wife Krystin Rouse; his great-grandchildren: Warren E. Rouse, Olivia Rouse, River Rouse, Reese Rouse, and his daughter-in-law, Julia Rouse.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Charlie and Rhoda; his first wife, Linda Louise Wheat-Rouse, and his son, David Wayne Rouse.

There will be no viewing or services at this time, there may be a Celebration of Life in honor of Warren at a later date. friends and family will be contacted. Arrangements are under the direction of Miller-Stahl Funeral Service. Online condolences may be made at www.millerstahl.com
